Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles
(AgNPs) was attempted using leaf extract of Psidium guajava L. belonging to
the family Myrtaceae and its synergistic
antimicrobial activity with six commercial antibiotics against Gram positive
(S. aureus, L. monocytogens,
S. epidermidis) Gram negative (E.coli, S.
typhi, E. aerogenes) bacteria was evaluated. The characterization of
synthesized AgNPs was done
by UV–Vis spectroscopy, Fourier transform
infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and zeta
potential.
